KUMAUS FESTIVAL 13.-17.8.2025 IN LAPPEENRANTA
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 13
A TASTE OF KUMAUS 2025
IN COLLABORATION WITH TASTE SAIMAA & LEHMUS ROASTERY
Café Satamatie 6
18:00

Music accompanies us through all kinds of emotional states. Whether it's joy or sorrow, everyday life or celebration, we often find ourselves selecting music that matches the mood. But how do these emotional tones influence our sense of taste? Does dark roast coffee taste even darker when accompanied by the low frequencies of a cello, or does light roast coffee seem brighter with high-frequency music? And what happens to the tasting experience when the music shifts from beautiful to loud? The string quartet performing at the Kumaus Festival helps us explore the answers to these questions. We experiment and examine how different frequencies and rhythms affect taste perception. Or could it be that drinking coffee changes the way we experience music?
